As a resident of the Town of Erin, I believe the designation of new Greenbelt lands in my municipality is not necessary. These are lands that are generally not suitable for development, and they are already well protected by the Official Plans of Wellington County and the Town of Erin. To make such changes without full consultation is an abuse of authority, and to pretend that these changes somehow offset the removal of Greenbelt protection in parts of the GTA is highly offensive. There is plenty of room for new housing in existing urban areas.
