I DO NOT support this…

I DO NOT support this proposal for amendment to the Greenbelt. The Greenbelt exist for one purpose only to protect critical environmental land and natural "infrastructure". The environmental services that the green spaces provide far outweigh the short term economic profit of select private land developers and investors. Urban sprawl is never the answer, densify and build upwards. Using the cost of living and housing market is not an excuse to erase and change decades of environmental protection polices and the lands it conserves. Minister Zoning Orders (MZO), Bill 23 with changes to the Conservation Authority Act, and the highway 413 proposal are many other examples of the irresponsible governing of the current government's disregard towards the value and vision of sustainability and environmental protection.
