The Public Lands Act indicates the camping unit to be used for private use only. How is the Ministry dealing with this? In many cases of it is a commercial operation. Also are commercial or non commercial owners taking the collected grey/black water from the accommodation and transporting it to where? My question is, have the health units been contacted regarding how the septic waste is being handled. Also I believe persons handling waste are to be licenced, not just anyone with a pump truck can pump or move septic waste, they are licenced by the MOE. Our concerns are specifically directed at future accommodations, commercial, non commercial, residents and non residents. There are numerous around the province at this time but if six hundred or more other commercial/non-commercial take to the waters there will be a disaster on the governments hands. We hope the MNR working with other agencies and groups has a clear plan on how to deal with this very real possibility.
The MNR should also inform Municipalities that they have the option to enact bylaws on land in the Municipality including land under water. This is my understanding.
