The distances, like for terrestrial camping are far to short and are subject to abuse. The MNRF does not have the capacity to enforce any of the proposals. The intentions are well meaning but there is no capacity with the staffing shortages that there are. Lire davantage

These are my own personal opinions, however I was a tourist outfitter in the Lake Nipigon area for many years. I think that the stationary floating time in one location is still too long. One week is far too lengthy a period to be moored in one spot. Lire davantage

I believe the 21 days should be the allowable time to camp on any crown land ( on water or inland) Lire davantage

As a new owner of a trailerable houseboat I would like to see the limit on how long you can stay limit to the same number of days as for Crown Land camping. I would also like to see that all houseboats have a means of disposing of waste properly and not be allowed to dump directly in the water. Lire davantage

Camping on water should be restricted to 5 days and all vessles must have holding tanks with pump out valves only all waste water, grey or black water. Camping 300m to shore is to close. It should be a minimum of 600m. Lire davantage

I believe that floating accommodations should be heavily regulated. They should be limited to where and when they can anchor and for how long. Lire davantage

This proposed legislation is long overdue. We support it entirely. Banning floating cottages for commercial and non-commercial purposes is critical to the well being and management of our lakes and waterways. Lire davantage

These are not boats but floating homes. They are avoiding paying taxes through No ownership of land. They aren’t being paid through marina fees. They are an eye sore and are moored in one place for as long as legally allowed. Maximum stay in one area no more than 7 days.

The Trent Severn waterways are an National Treasure. If you allow anyone to put a houseboat together (whatever design) you will be polluting the waters and causing congestion on the waterway. Lire davantage

I do not agree with the floating container cottage, which has been located on Little Lake in Port Severn, Ontario due to the following reasons: 1. It’s grey water pollutes our lake! Lire davantage

Thank you. I do plan to study your document in more detail in a few days. My initial reaction to the thought of allowing floating vessels on a lake is that whatever improvement that is proposed may be ignored. Lire davantage

I feel very strongly that "container homes" as currently on Gloucester pool, that are not proper house boats should not be allowed on our waterways. Lire davantage

Like the proposed changes especially the definition of a camping unit. Barges not to be allowed is good. Suggest a distance from shore be farther out than what you are proposing. Thank you for undertaking these proposed changes, steps in the right direction.

These shipping containers are an absolute eye sore on the lake. Imagine 20-30 of these in a small bay or lake. Lire davantage

We have restrictions on dock size, e.g. amount of water coverage allowed for a dock (Six Mile Lake) Allowing house boat tie up would defeat the purpose which is intended to protect the lakes. I object to these large structures along the shoreline. Lire davantage

I don’t want to see floating homes or cottages it would destroy are lakes and would cause problems with boating and for those that actually own land on water . Lire davantage

As a cottage owner, we are subject to many regulations to protect the water and environment which we happily adhere to. The current regulations on floating homes, camping on the water are vague. We’ve been to communities where they did not set up regulations and now they are stuck with them. Lire davantage
