I am opposed to allowing these vessels to utilize our waterways as camping locations. They don’t pay any taxes, they become a hindrance to navigation, we don’t have the policing to insure proper septic systems are utilized, waterways shouldn’t be an obstruction to any cottage owner who pays taxes and has means of disposing garbage properly, wild life, especially birds that fly during the late hours would definitely have difficulties, noise travels over water very easily and cottages are required to have numerous trees to block the sound, they basically can park anywhere they like without any restrictions. This type of vessel was never meant to be on our waterways. I realize they want to compare themselves to large boats but the majority of them are stored in marinas and only utilized for travel from destination to destination, not to sit for weeks in one location. They generally find a place that’s not intruding on cottagers that pay healthy taxes for their view and privacy. If it’s waterfront that they want, put them up in their own marina like the trailer park people have, who also by the way have to pay taxes.
