Please do not approve this application. As a rural community neighbour I have concerns about human waste being spread on farm land.

“If the sewage meets Ministry of Environment standards for heavy-metal content and fecal-coliform counts, or if it is kept for minimum periods in large composters, it is given a new name -- a biosolid -- and it can be applied to land as a fertilizer.” (Globe and Mail)
The sludge from stool bus will not be tested and we don’t know what contaminants it may contain.

With heavy rains, as seen in the last month, the property in question was flooded and if the sewage is on the land it would not have time to be absorbed and would be run off. If this gets into any of drainage ditch systems it will spread to surrounding properties and join into the drainage system by my property. Contaminating water flow that kids or pets or farm animals could come in contact with.

Also, some females flush’s feminine hygiene products down toilets and if that is in the waste, birds could pick up strings and move blood waste to populated properties.

Humans waste is biohazard-“Sewage and wastewater contain bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses that can cause intestinal, lung, and other infections. Bacteria may cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite. Some bacteria and diseases carried by sewage and wastewater are E. coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera. “ (Delaware Health and Social Services)

Human waste can contain disease-causing pathogens.

Think about Wiarton!!! Untreated sewage is dangerous.

I require septic tank pumping and would be willing to pay more for the service in order for the company to take the sewage to a treatment facility which all sewage should be treated at. Raw sewage is biohazard and without treatment it puts the community at risk.
