I suggest that in lieu of Bill 4 you wait to establish a replacement plan to offset carbon input to our atmosphere.
I say that in relation to the recent UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, and all the information that has gone into Ontario's and Canada's consideration of the need to lessen carbon output. These reports and plans tell me that some form of change to our human input to carbon must take place.

The present government finds that the current carbon tax is not applicable to the needs of the province - be that financial or environmental. Yet they are leaving us with no protection and a loss of momentum to an improved relationship with our natural environment. The proceeds from the tax are assisting the transformation to a clean and more sustainable way of living. How will the present government facilitate that transformation to the extent that the carbon tax does or do better than the carbon tax?

These transformative processes to sustainable living must be in place before the current act is removed. I say that without knowing what the current government is going to put in place immediately or long term. I also say it as someone educated in relation to these environmental concerns.
