Please do not cancel cap and trade. I am a recent graduate of an environmental management program in Ontario and have studied various mechanisms for carbon regulation, and feel cap and trade is effective given the alternatives. I do not feel Ontario will be able to meaningfully advance our provincial commitments to reducing our carbon emissions without cap and trade, as we are already struggling. I believe we need more aggressive carbon mitigation policies, and government regulation in the form of taxation through cap and trade is necessary. Ontario needs to remain vigilant with reducing our carbon emissions to ensure a healthy environment for our generation and the ones to come. Our economy, and more widely society, depends on this.
