Considering the recent climate change related forest fires, it seems counterproductive to increase clear cut logging operations that involve carcinogenic herbicides and chemical insecticides sprayed by planes to turn forests into monocultural farm crops, mines, or more commercial and housing developments. The herbicides are to kill trees who are considered “less desirable”; however, these trees have a symbiotic relationship with the “desirable” trees and all other species. Spraying carcinogenic chemicals over Indigenous communities is environmental racism.

There needs to be a ban on huge clearcuts.

The Local Community Consultation should include wildlife rehabilitators, environmentalists, animal rights activists, artists, and hikers. The fur industry has a bias regarding animals and should not be involved.

I agree with more involvement of local Indigenous people. They have understood the history and current interconnections in the ecosystem. I think Indigenous people should be the ones in charge of all the decisions, not the government, developers, the commercial fur industry, nor the non indigenous commercial logging companies.

There are not enough jobs up north, and people may say yes to a lot of things out of desperation. Please support environmentally friendly jobs. Please protect people and the environment, rather than huge corporations.
