I amnot in favour of Bill 4, which will cancel the cap and trade act. I want the Ontario government to develop a real climate plan to redu ce emissions, help people save money by saving energy, and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. Ontario needs to adopt a price on carbon pollution through a fee and dividend plan which will charge polluters and return the money to the pockets of Ontarians, so they can lower their carbon footprint. If the big polluters don't pay, we as the little man, the individual citizen, who you say you are standing up for, will pay for the cost and consequences of polluting. We will pay the high costs of damage to our homes through flooding, tornadoes, fires, etc., which are a result of climate change and will only get worse unless the government takes action. Scientists again warned us very clearly this week that we MUST reduce our carbon footprint. I want emissions targets developed that are in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. I want Ontario to getg off fossil fuels and work towards being 100% powered by clean energy by 2010. Pollution negatively affects our health, and if it isn't reduced we will have mounting health care costs. I wish Ontario to end subsidies for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions. I also wish to see funding for the everyday citizens, to have energy saving solutions to their homes.
Bill 4 is bad for our economy, our health and our environment.
