I am not in support of Bill 4, which will cancel the cap and trade plan. I want the Ontario Government to develop a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save money by saving energy, and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. I want Ontario to put a price on pollution by making polluters pay. Otherwise we the individual citizens of Ontario will be paying, including the high costs of damage to our homes due to flooding, tornadoes, storms, fires, etc. that are resulting from the pollution. These events are worsening, and connected to climate change. You say you are standing up for the people, so do so by taking action on reducing pollution.

I want Ontario to get off fossil fuels, and work towards being 100% powered by clean energy by 2050. Look towards other countries where this is being done. Pollution is negatively affecting our health and adding to increased health care costs. To reduce them, we have to work towards clean energy. The Ontario government has to end subsidies of fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions and initiatives. Revenue from having a price on carbon pollution can be used to fund programs such as those providing funding for energy saving solutions in industry as well as our homes, workplace and public electric vehicle charging incentive programs, electric, hydrogen and other alternatives to fossil fuel incentives, and helping cities prepare to respond to extreme climate events. I want emissions targets in line with our obligation to the Paris Climate Agreement.

Only this week scientists have once again loudly and clearly stated that the time to act on carbon pollution and climate change is now. Ontario MUST be among those taking positive action, or it will be too late, and we will look like fools when compared to the many world jurisdictions who are taking action.
