The premise of these changes is to support the More Homes Built Faster Action Plan. It has become clear over the last month even to the provincial government that land is not the issue nor is water taking, sewers or drainage, therefore on the broadest level the premise does not support the changes.
Specifically there are multiple aspects that don't make sense like increasing volumetric limits not affecting the environment and removing Conservation Authority alerts while still expecting them to effectively protect watersheds.
I would ask the Ministry to maintain the status quo with respect to water taking as it has provided a secure, cost effective means of protecting the environment.while it is becoming more and more clear that the More Homes Built Faster Action Plan is itself built on quicksand.
