This is obviously just one more way of letting developers get away with cutting more corners than they already do. It honestly almost goes without saying that this is in the interest of nothing and nobody but developers, and would allow environmental standards to slide ever more appallingly, even as we are in the midst of ecological collapse, and even as Canada is very directly experiencing the real and devastating effects of climate change. Could we kindly pass legislation that actually benefits the public good over developer interests?
