The carbon tax was decided…

The carbon tax was decided upon based on much consultation and the work of policy analysts. It was based upon experience of other jurisdictions who have shown that carbon taxes do help both the environment and the economy. Moreover, this year's Nobel Prize winner in economics has stated that carbon taxes are one of the most efficient ways of helping reduce carbon emissions while helping the economy grow. Considering that and the fact that if we do not reduce our carbon footprint within the next 20 years it will become increasingly more difficult to live on this planet, I think that it makes sense to set aside partisanship and move forward with an environmentally-friendly and economic plan such as the carbon tax.
