I first wanted to comment that I didn't think the comment period was long enough given that it spanned over the holiday season. I also wanted to identify that feedback would be more meaningful through focused sessions that allow the reviewer to understand more about what the government review process and direction is. I sincerely hope that this will not be the last time that the general public, municipalities, etc. have the opportunity to comment on proposed updates/changes to the Ontario Invasive Species Strategic Plan. The following are direct responses to the questions posed in the online notice and associated information.

1. The future of invasive species prevention and management should include greater awareness for the general public as well as cooperation with all levels of government when reviewing proposed development and developing local management plans.
2. Opportunities for the future of invasive species prevention and management in Ontario include tools for municipalities and individuals to prevent and manage invasive species locally.
3. Barriers related to invasive species prevention and management include lack of awareness, lack of resources, including funding, and lack of coordination to ensure provincial plans are implemented locally.
