To whom it may concern ,
This region of Ontario seems to be a favoured depository of , let's call it what it is , garbage from the GTA . As most people in the GTA probably don't want their garbage deposited nearby , why would anyone think that we should want it here ? Apart from the fact that it is garbage and we have many nearby watercourses to pollute , will we be compensated for the wear and tear on our municipally maintained roadways ? I assume that Provincial highways 401 and 402 will bring the trucks to our area but what municipal routes will they then take to the proposed dump ? And what mitigations will be enacted for the 24/7 nature of the proposal . I'm sure that many people in the GTA would not want the day and night rumble of heavy trucks through their neighbourhoods , so why should we ? Anyone who uses either provincial highway knows what it is like to contend with the volume of leaking , improperly sealed garbage trucks making their way to Blenheim or Windsor or Sarnia . Again , why would we want more of the same ?
Perhaps it is in the best interests of the current government , should they wish to retain this seat , to refuse this application . Approving it will not serve them well .
