Region of Waterloo - ROPA 6 (Map 349)
On behalf of landowners - 1056 Swan Street, Ayr and 955 Brant-Waterloo Road, Ayr
This comment relates to the Regional Municipality of Waterloo - Approval to amend Municipality Official Plan and in particular Map 349 and on behalf of the landowners as illustrated on the attachment Arcadis -ROPA 6 Attachment No. 3.
On their behalf, we express support for the proposed decision to include all their lands within the Ayr Urban Area as defined on the mapping of the Regional Plan. This proposed decision is supported by the Township of North Council and who is providing separate comments to this matter. We agree with the position of the Township.
This is the first step in the municipal community building exercise and will guide the township and the community in implementing the Regional Plan through their comprehensive Township Official Plan review. The inclusion of these lands addresses all the lands in southwest Ayr located within the Countryside Line of the approved Regional Plan and supports a coordinated approach to land use planning, transportation systems, pedestrian connectivity, and integration of servicing.
The inclusion of these lands supports the principles of the province, region and the township for the efficient use of land use designation, protect the natural environment, better utilization of existing and planned municipal infrastructure, provide for a complete community, round out the community and support more housing.
On behalf of our clients, we respectfully request that the Region of Waterloo Official Plan Amendment (ROPA 6) and Map 349 be approved.
