Dear Minister Calandra,
I am writing to ask that you restore the original plan for the Region of Waterloo developed by all upper and lower tier municipalities working together under the leadership of the Region of Waterloo. The proposed amendments to add new Urban Areas will destroy our farmland and add massive amounts of urban sprawl.
Furthermore, I ask that absolutely no development be allowed on the Regional Recharge Area. We definitely do not need to build on this Recharge Area. The Regional Official Plan approved in August 2022 had only minimal farmland loss and showed there were lots of opportunities within our current urban boundaries to meet all our housing needs.
