It is extremely important that the federal carbon tax remain, and remain intact. It has been proven to be an effective tool to reduce carbon emissions which is the cause of climate change.

The effects of climate change are all around us and its costs to society and governments is increasing year by year. The current Ontario government is calling to scrap the carbon tax but has proposed no viable alternative - a very scary thing considering this existential threat.

Not only has the federal carbon tax proven effective, the federal carbon rebate has returned more money to individuals compared to what they pay in carbon tax 80% of the time.

We are all familiar with the concept that if someone causes harm there is a price to pay. If someone robs a bank or causes bodily harm, they go to jail.

The carbon tax works on the same principle. It's the principle that if someone emits pollution, they are causing harm and therefore must pay. At the same time, as a person reduces their carbon emissions, the more they benefit from the federal rebate.

I strongly urge you to keep the federal carbon tax intact. It is working.
