I am against this bill as it does not address the root causes of substantive housing. Rather it allows urban sprawl on green spaces with little or no infrastructure. Instead of building smaller houses where infrastructure is present, more cars will be needed to get around. Pipelines for fossil fuels will be added when we need to be divesting ourselves from fossil fuels. As well this will make the cost of owning a home more expensive. Heat pumps are more economical and should become the default energy provider.
The possibility of using agricultural land and disposing of wetlands that are carbon sinks is intolerable these days.
Instead of "cutting the red tape" it is making it more difficult for citizens to make a democratic response. This is just another way to use our precious Greenbelt without the safety net needed to protect it.
