This is an abomination of an idea. There is absolutely no urgent need for additional condos without the required infrastructure. Anyone who commutes in the area knows that adding thousands more people would create further chaos. I live at Weston Road and Langstaff and it already takes 20 minutes to get to and from VMC during rush hour - part of my commute is through the proposed area and the total distance is only 5 kilometres.

Enough is enough. We didn't want the proposed condos on Velmar years ago and we don't want these. What we urgently need is the infrastructure to support the tens of condos that have been erected in the area in the past 10 years, not four new buildings. Whoever keeps making these proposals needs to drive up and down Highway 7 every day for a month - I'm sure they'll change their tune. Or, perhaps, try getting home from work on the already congested Weston Road and Langstaff. There is bumper to bumper traffic every single day. Throw in a snow storm, since that should also be a factor as winter is 6 months of our year, and the commute is even worse.

The city is becoming unliveable. Calling VMC "Downtown Vaughan" was the first laughable mistake. This is not Toronto and no one wants it to be. Toronto is already broken and it takes upwards of an hour from up here to get down there during peak hours. But, according to the Mayor and Councillor, the best idea would be to rezone the area on an urgent basis and further reduce the quality of life up here - when we already pay out of our ears in taxes to live in the "suburbs". What an abysmal display of incompetence.

Government officials need to remember they are not above the law and should not try to circumvent it in order to line their pockets. Vaughan does NOT want this.
