Moving ahead with constructing four, 32+ storey apartment buildings at Langstaff and Hwy 400 using a MZO order is irresponsible. Our councillors should not be supporting and allowing this to occur. What is the urgency in having to fast track the approval of these apartments without proper planning, conducting the appropriate transportation studies, understanding the infrastructure needs as well as the need for implementing all the sewers, watermains, etc. to service these monstrous buildings on such a small parcel of land.
The location is at on an on ramp to a major highway! How does this impact traffic? The area is already over congested.
The MZO is used for urgent proposals! THIS IS NOT AN URGENT PROPOSAL! T
Many MZO's have already been cancelled by the Ontario Government to allow for proper planning. There is no urgency in getting the buildings up other than a developer wanting to profit big time from the construction. Bottom line, there is no need for for an MZO.
