I am opposed to the approval of this development at this point in time given there is insufficient roadway and transit infrastructure in place to support such a project proceeding in the near future. Traffic congestion is already at its maximum along the Weston Road, Highway 7 to Major MacKenzie corridor and any relief is many years away from completion. Through traffic ingress via Weston Downs is 10 to 50 times the volume of 30 years ago when I moved into the area. Numerous attempts to provide improved traffic diversion methods in Weston Downs have gone nowhere and the proposed development will do nothing but create more traffic chaos in our community unless the City takes a more aggressive approach to make improvements now and not when the situation is totally unmanageable. I realize that something needs to be done to create more affordable housing but does that trump the enjoyment of the current residents of this community??
