1. There was no insight to this development, as no research went on to address the current traffic on Weston rd, Langstaff rd, and Pine-valley notwithstanding the new traffic that would commence during the building of the project and the new residences.
2. I purchased my home to grow in equity so that it would assist me and my wife in our retirement. Based on the proposed building, and type, it will decrease our family’s home value, as the neighbourhood will be less desirable for new homebuyers due to traffic and the foreseeable crime to the low income owners these homes are intended for.
3. No notice was given, either electronically or by mail, was given on the proposed project. It is a shame that it was brought to the attention of the residences by posters and flyers delivered to my door.
Shame on the councillors who motioned the MZO act (which does not apply in this instance) to push forward this proposal. It seems government gets to decided more and more to what happens in our neighbourhoods than asking the residences first.
