A change to the tonnage limit was approved by the Director on 13 June 2023
The approval allows Bruno’s Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in any calendar year from 25,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes annually. This increase addresses the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Application has been made by Bruno’s Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited to vary a condition of the current licence(s) to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence(s) to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence(s) condition states that “It is a condition of this licence that no more than 25,000 tonnes of material be removed in any one calendar year”. Bruno’s Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 100,000 tonnes annually.
