Toyota Boshoku Canada, Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air at this facility, including Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. A-500-1117360745, and includes the addition of new or historically unapproved sources for all emissions from Toyota Boshoku Canada, Inc., a vehicle parts manufacturing facility, located in the Township of Woolwich, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• injection moulding
• adhesive application
• vacuum forming
• touch-up painting
• welding
• parts assembly

The amendment is to reflect changes to operations and equipment including requesting Limited Operational Flexibility, removing filtration for the existing adhesive spray booths and touch up paint booths, and removing the existing plasma cutting exhaust and combining the plasma cutting emissions with an existing weld exhaust.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• chromium
• iron oxide
• nickel and nickel compounds
• nitrogen oxides
• suspended particulate matter
• noise, and more

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
