This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 9205-6TKPTF for Shell Canada OP Inc. and Shell Canada Limited as general partners for and on behalf of Shell Canada Products, a petroleum refinery located in the Township of St. Clair, Ontario.

This application is for removing ductwork and modifying the emission point for two heaters. The sources at the facility include:

  • tanks
  • loading
  • fugitives
  • waste water treatment plant
  • heaters
  • oxidizers
  • boilers
  • flares
  • fluidized catalytic cracking unit
  • sulphur recovery unit
  • storage units
  • process fugitives
  • cooling towers
  • landfarm
  • loading
  • shipping
  • diesel-fired pumps
  • maintenance welding fumehoods
  • QA/QC laboratory fumehoods
  • standby electrical generators

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • benzo(a)pyrene
  • carbon monoxide
  • hydrogen sulphide
  • nickel and its compounds (except nickel carbonyl)
  • nitrogen oxides
  • particulate matter
  • noise
