Détails de la décision
An Environmental Compliance Approval amendment was issued to include previously constructed stormwater management works consisting of an oil/grit separator and existing stormwater management ponds to provide quality and quantity control, discharging into municipal storm ditches at the AOC RESINS AND COATINGS COMPANY site, located at 38 Royal Road, Guelph, Ontario.
Effets de la consultation
The Ministry had received one comment regarding the proposal, summarized as follows:
Comment: The site is located in a Wellhead Protection Area (WHPA-B) with high vulnerability score and there are concerns about chloride infiltration into groundwater from road salt application to parking surfaces.
Response: The site's existing stormwater management works were previously constructed and reviewed by the City of Guelph. No new stormwater management activities are being proposed, and implementation of physical controls are limited in this area due to a lack of storm sewers or surface water receivers. To address concerns about road salt/chloride infiltration, the owner is working with the City of Guelph to develop best management practices to minimize impacts from infiltration.
