Ontario Power Generation Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. 7792-DGWK9H to support the expansion of the stormwater management system associated with the Phase II Pickering Waste Management Facility (PWMF) to accommodate two additional storage buildings referred to as the Pickering Component Storage Structure (PCSS) and Storage Building 5 (SB5), as well as the proposed Security Kiosk building.

The stormwater facility expansion includes an area of approximately 6.4 hectares that will consist of impervious area and be serviced by a series of storm sewers, ditches, catch basin/catch basin maintenance holes, and two Jellyfish filters on lands located at 1675 Montgomery Park Road, in the City of Pickering, Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario. The stormwater will be discharged to Lake Ontario using an existing outfall.

Amendment of the ECA is also required to remove stormwater features described in the existing ECA that were not installed as part of the last PWMF – Phase II expansion. This was due to the cancellation of the previously planned Processing and Amenities Building. As a result, the stormwater features associated with these previously planned buildings were not installed.
