This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 5890-CTTKVU for Kimco Steel Sales Limited for the establishment of stormwater management works, to service the proposed development of a steel laydown yard at the 1431 McAdoo’s located in the Geographic Township of Kingston, County of Frontenac.
The total site area is approximately 20.08 ha. The stormwater management works are to collect, treat and dispose of stormwater runoff, to provide an enhanced level water quality control and erosion protection, and to attenuate post-development peak flows to the restricted 2-year pre development level for all storm events up to and including the 100-year storm event, consisting of the following:
Stormwater Management Facility (catchment area 14.55 hectares): The stormwater management works are comprised of one hybrid pond located at the south side of the development, having a quality storage volume of 2435 cubic meters and quantity storage volume of 3700.9 cubic metres, a total storage volume of 6136.8 cubic metres is provided. Quality storage shall be detained for 30 hours and released via a 150 millimetre orifice installed at the outlet structure. Quantity storage and controlled release provided by a 600 millimetre outlet sewer pipe discharging to the south of the property to an existing un-named water course, allowing a maximum discharge of 624 litres per second under the 100-year storm event. Including erosion/sedimentation control measures during construction and all other controls and appurtenances essential for the proper operation of the aforementioned Works.
