Détails de la décision
Approval has been granted to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (noise) No. 2070-7WJKDH for Greenwich Windfarm GP Inc. for the wind farm operation in the Township of Dorion, Ontario.
The Project currently consists of 43 as-built wind turbine generators (WTGs) and a transformer substation, equipped with 2 transformers.
This application is to reflect the as-built transformer substation locations.
Effets de la consultation
The ministry received one comment during the 45 day comment period from July 16 to August 30, 2026. The ministry also received another comment via email on October 9, 2026. The two comments were in reference to the lack of detail within the proposal notice to reflect the as-built transformer substation locations.
The Greenwich Wind Farm has an Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. 2070-7WJKDH under the Environmental Protection Act, as the facility was approved before Ontario Regulation 359/09: Renewable Energy Approvals Under Part V.0.1 of the Act came into force.
The proposal is to update Schedule B in the amended ECA to include the locations of the as-built transformer substation. The Greenwich Wind Farm, consisting of 43 wind turbines and one transformer substation (equipped with two transformers) has been in commercial operation since 2011.
The only change as part of this amendment application is to reflect the final as-built layout of the transformer substation in the ECA.
An updated Acoustic Assessment Report (2026) was submitted as part of the application, and the assessment demonstrates that the noise levels from the facility will continue to comply with applicable MECP sound level limits at all identified points of reception. There are no noise-sensitive receptors located within 1,500 metres of the wind turbines or transformer substation.
Greenwich Windfarm GP Inc. must ensure that the facility is operating in compliance with their ECA.
