Please do not grant Nestle the permit to extract millions of liters of water [PER DAY] from the well in Centre Wellington. I have no problem with Nestle selling and extracting water but why do it in a growing town where this process will disrupt our water supply eco system for generations. Lire davantage

This ban should be made permanent, not only to protect local water supplies but also to prevent the alternative from triggering NAFTA ( or its replacement) demands to sell water to the US. Lire davantage

I honestly think that the extension on the moratorium on bottled water taking permits should be extended for MUCH more than a year. Ground water is a public resource and should not be given away (the prices big business pay for our water is an insult). Ground water must be protected!

I vote for no more taking of water from our natural waters for bottled water. It's depleting our water supplies. It's creating more plastic pollution. It needs to be stopped and banned.

I am very pleased to see you are extending the ban on Nestle and hopefully other large companies, from monopolizing our fresh water resources. I would also love to see you take back any allowance you have given Nestle, to harvest our fresh water, and other resources. Lire davantage

Extend the ban. Consider the future health of Ontarians. We can't thrive without continued sources of clean water. Ontario may be open for business, but let's ensure we can supply our growing communities with essential water.

I would like to comment in favour of extending the moratorium on bottled water licenses. Nestle itself has caused water shortages where it has been allowed to operate. Lire davantage

Please look into extending the moraturium as not doing to neglects many citizens of this land. The natives are living under water advisories while the government is allowing nestle to take ground water and settle it to others. The same water which comes from an aquifer that God knows how BIG it is. Lire davantage

I believe we should only give permits to domestic companies. Any other countries, particularly American companies can buy OUR bottled water at a premium price if they want it so bad. Let OUR people work these jobs, and reap the profits from it.

It makes no sense to me that you are selling our water to a corporation that only has dollars signs in their minds. Considering all the areas in our country that don't have clean drinking water. The people if country should come first not corporations.

I am in favour of the proposal to extend the moritorium on water bottling permits. I believe Ontario must consult hydrogeologists outside Canada and secondly that the costs of bottled water must be understood within the context of provincial subsidies to Ontario’s Aggregate industry. I support this motion, and hope it will result in further review of the public threat represented by water privatization. Water is to be shared among the people, not commodified and used for gain.

As our province evaluates our groundwater and bottled water sources, it seems like a perfect opportunity to also look at the impact of how that water is packaged. Water could (and should) be packaged in biodegradable cartons, rather than harmful plastic bottles. Lire davantage

In general, I am neither for nor against the moratorium of issuing permits for long term water takings for bottled water, however, I do feel that including pumping tests in the moratorium is counterproductive. Lire davantage

Require that Nestle set up a water treatment plant or whatever infrastructure is required for one of the reserves, and not a small one. Give them a chance to be good corporate citizens. Lire davantage

Water is a natural resource that needs to be protected, not exploited. I would like to see Ontario aim to do better than a moratorium on bottled water extraction by prohibiting the bottling of water. Water is a basic need and it belongs to everyone. Lire davantage
