As an avid watefowler hunting for over 15 years I have seen first hand the destruction these birds have caused in the Chatham Ontario area and Brighton Ontario area. Lire davantage

This is very long overdue. I am an avid duck hunter and angler. We watch these destructive creatures completely demolish once flourishing islands. The islands are unsalvagable and wreak. Lire davantage

Their numbers seem to have exploded in the Hamilton/Toronto Harbour areas over the past 30 years and their nesting colonies in those particular areas have destroyed the habitat so badly it seems unable to regenerate. That and the fish food chain eco systems seem to be suffering. Lire davantage

I support this proposed hunt! These birds are destroying our waterways and islands, especially on the St. Lawrence River system. The population of hese birds needs to be managed.

The cormorant is a scourge on the great lakes. I live in Grimsby Ontario and regularly fish Lakes Ontario and Erie. The loss of vegetation, the pollution and the smell from these invaders. Never mind the impact to the fisheries... Lire davantage

Totally support hunting of this nuisance cormorant. They have become a real problem in my area, eating the small fish and making a mess on islands. They are gross!

I do believe that a season should be open for this duck. They are becoming overwhelmingly overpopulated and killing trees that they are deciding to perch on. I am in favor of opening a season.

I think this is a great idea and long overdue. The amount of revenue generated from recreational fishing which appears to have increased in recent years would benefit the most from allowing these birds to be thinned out

This proposal is long overdue. The destruction seen on Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching has increased substantially because of the cormorant and numbers have also increased immensely. An open season is needed to reduce populations.

I think this is a great idea. I suggest a year round open season, with no bag limit. At least for a few years. There are way too many of these birds.

Reading this proposal just made my day! For to long now I have been saying something should be done about the cormorant issue. Without even doing a formal survey anyone can see their numbers are exploding, which in turn will only destroy our native fish species. Lire davantage

I have seen several small islands in the frontnac region completely devastated by cormorants. As an avid fisherman and hunter i have observed the flock numbers increasing a lot in the last 2 seasons. Lire davantage

I would like to express my strong opposition to the proposal of declaring Double-crested Cormorants (DCCO) a game bird and allowing hunting of these birds in Ontario. Lire davantage

I have watched the number of cormmorants increase steadily over the past 10 years on all the bodies of water that I fish. Trees and small islands destroyed and covered in feces. Please approve the cormorant hunting season to get them under control!

I have seen first hand the destruction Cormorants have caused on the western basin of the Great Lakes and the Detroit river and think that opening a season for them is a great idea.
