I am saddened by recent cuts to these programs and as a new mother I wish for nothing more than to have a clean space for my son to grow.

I would like the wording of the section 21.1 to be more specific. What is considered "mandatory", for example? And, what will be the role of our regional conservation authorities? Their roles and powers should not be diminished, but they should be strengthened.

Conservation Authorities are a unique made-in-Ontario model that has stood the test of time for over 70 years.
• CAs are good value for money. We are flexible and responsive to the local environmental needs in our watersheds.

I understand that legislation needs to be revised but careful wording is required, in the case of modernizing the conservation act leaving out the conservation of natural resources as a mandatory function will effectively neuter the conservation authority from protecting the limited natural environm

I believe that the word “Conservation” should be included in the Ministry responsible for the Conservation Authorities. The work done by CA’s would be poorly reflected upon if lost in the name of the Ministry.

The province of Ontario must formulate regulations to allow Conservation Authorities to operate effectively to protect our environment, forestry, waterways and the people that live in and around the various areas in their jurisdictions.

Conservations Authority (CAs) provide many services and functions that are not captured within this document and could be viewed as omitted due to the vagueness of the changes in the new act.

The natural environment contributes clean air, clean water and a multitude of
benefits important to the health and well-being of the people of Ontario.
The authority for the CA's is far too broad and encompassing. Let them focus on their core mandate which originally was to control flooding. Make them solely responsible for water flow management at all dams and lakes and rivers.

The More Homes, More Choice 2019 Bill 108 proposes amendments to 13 different Acts including the Conservation Authorities Act as Schedule 2 (CA Act). The following comments are restricted to the CA Act.

I strongly feel that the conservative government of Ontario is either ignorant of the damages of climate change (even though it's effects are occurring right now) or does not care. It certainly does not care about green space or wildlife if Money can be made.

• You cannot take the watershed out of the water. Floodplains cannot be managed if we don’t look back up the watershed and engage in review of proposals that may impact the runoff of water.

"More Homes, More Choice" should be relative to non-Conservation and/or Park lands, i.e. new laws /amendments / changes should not enable further encroachment on public and private lands set aside as preserves and environmentally important areas.
