I strongly support extending the current moratorium on water bottling permits. My concern is related to the plastic bottle generation as much as it is for protecting our water, which is one of our most valuable resources.

We should not be letting companies & especially Nestle to take water from our aquafers. This water should be protected. Furthermore we are destroying our oceans & our wildlife when we are constantly filling the ocean with plastic. Our tap water is fine to drink, we can filter it if we like. Lire davantage

I fully support this extension. The default position should be that water is a fundamental right belonging to canadian residents. Lire davantage

PLease do not continue to undersell or give away valuable resources such as water to corporations. Ground water supplies are lessening and priority must always be given to the local ecology and communal needs over profit. The future cost of this loss is beyond any short term profit. Lire davantage

Goals of all big companies is only larger profit and they seldom care about environment and consequences. I think we should preserve our resources. First of all pre-serve them for our country instead of selling abroad. Lire davantage

The moratorium should be extended indefinitely. Water is for citizens and communities and not corporations. Bottled water should be banned anyways!

I wish to communicate my concern about the environmental and social impact of using groundwater for bottled water. Ontario must continue to work for the public good and be a steward of our natural resources and ecology for the sustainable development of all. Lire davantage

Fresh water is an incredibly valuable resource and will only become more valuable as the world population grows and ongoing industrial pollution, as well changes to the fresh water supply precipitated by climate change, increase demand for and reduce the available supply of potable water. It is most encouraging that the government has extended the moratorium on water bottling permits until later in the next year . BUT it also means that the extension just means that Nestle's plans to expand its operations at the Middlebrook Well, near Elora , Ontario are on hold . Lire davantage

Not only does Nestle pay less than the bare minimum, but bottling water ruins our lands, promotes plastic waste/pollution and communicates to our countries population that this is acceptable - it is not acceptable!!!! Focus on maintaining clean water and supporting indigenous communities.
