Cutting down trees to burn for electricity makes no sense. Instead, we need to plant trees. We need much more solar and wind generated electricity industry in Ontario to have more green jobs.

STOP Biomass production and the cutting down of our forests under the claim that Biomass is "CLEANER THAN COAL"! Stop lying to the public about all the logging on 1st Nations land. Lire davantage

Wood pellets (biomass) are not the climate solution to replace fossil fuels. They are being marketed as a clean energy alternative, however, wood pellets are known to be dirtier than coal when burned. Lire davantage

Enough is enough. We have to get off carbon based fuels if we are to have a livable planet. No burning of trees to generate electricity(or heat). The only reasonable future is with wind, solar and hydro power. The science says we have to change now.

Stop it! We need our trees to breathe! Humans living a cushy life with electricity is not more important than the lives of all the creatures that depend on these trees to live and eat!

This is an incredibly bad idea given the current climate crisis. Wood pellets will definitely not help move on from fossil fuels as it is no better than burning coal. Invest in renewables and sustainable forestry practices instead.

Please stop expanding the wood pellet industry. This is not an eco friendly way to get energy. We need our trees alive to help reduce our co levels. The natural world needs us to protect it as it has protected us for centuries.

I do not find any science that tells me that burning wood pellets produces a clean and sustainable source of energy. I have watched how slowly newly planted saplings attain the mass of an old tree. We need quicker ways of using the energy of the sun. Lire davantage

Please don’t remove more oxygen by cutting down trees to provide jobs for people in the mistaken view that they are green jobs. Wood pellets are producers of carbon. Surely our government can truly find ways to provide jobs in a carbon neutral way. Lire davantage

I oppose the expansion of the biomass industry in Ontario. One of the main products of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but we know that wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack. Lire davantage

No way does this even make sense. Instead of using or investing in solar power panels, or wind panels,... we are funding something that isn’t sustainable. I don’t want to create any part time solutions, our solutions should be sustainable and forest friendly.

This sounds like a bad idea-apparently burning wood pellets is dirtier than burning coal. It's time to invest in renewable energy-an industry that would create thousands of meaningful jobs.

From the perspective that pallets are necessary in the transportation system, we have to find alternatives by using matereial which are way less damaging to the environment

Expanding the biomass industry is not a solution to clean energy. We need to reduce our carbon footprint not make it larger. Using wood products to create more energy would put further strain on the forests that are already being stripped of their biodiversity from logging companies. Lire davantage
