Please don't expand the wood pellet industry. It actually has more pollution when you consider the smoke coming from it. Best to try something else. Lire davantage

Please do not support, encourage or expand wood pellet or biomass energy. That leads to destruction of trees and forests which are needed for climate change, biodiversity habitat and ecosystems. Lire davantage

We understand that energy workers need a viable alternative. But we know that wood pellets are not the solution, for the reasons mentioned above. The Canadians, and particularly the Ontarians, have been creative. Lire davantage

Hey Dougie, for once do the right thing. Try to think of the future and not possibly your wallet and the wallets of "friends" who might profit from it!

We should not increase deforestation and caregorize wood pellets as clean biomass. Burning wood pellets releases more CO2 than coal and it is far from clear that replanting would sequester comparable carbon to offset that.

This is not good. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but we know that wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack. Lire davantage

Expanding this industry would be a very bad idea, not environmentaly friendly and short sighted in the extreme. Ontario should work together with industry to promote good 'green' jobs for the future.

One of the main products of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but we know that wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack. Lire davantage

Cutting down trees to burn then sounds like a giant leap backwards - let’s embrace 21st century technology instead and try to preserve the planet for our children and their children.

Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative. They are not. A decision to burn more wood pellets means burning more trees for electricity – producing a fuel that’s actually dirtier than coal. Lire davantage

Burning wood pellets is dirtier than coal. We need to reduce and go further to stop the use of fuels that contribute to climate change. It does not make any sense to be chopping down the trees that filter our polluted air to produce more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Lire davantage

According to a new scientific study, the clear cutting of old-growth forests to produce wood pellets to replace fossil fuels in electricity generation releases more carbon into the atmosphere than it saves. Lire davantage

I can’t believe you are actually planning on cutting down trees to make wood pellets. We need the trees. We seen a million more trees. And apparently it is not a cleaner fuel. Don’t be so short-sighted!

For heaven”s sake! Cutting down trees to burn in order to generate electricity is beyond the pale! To my mind, it’s like killing animals for their pelts in order to satisfy our insatiable greed and hubris. Lire davantage

Cutting down trees for wood pellets is a totally backward way of looking at the carbon issue. Trees actually take carbon from the air and convert it into energy and food. They are reducing our carbon footprint more than not using oil, or coal. Lire davantage
