There is no question that Ontario needs more housing; however, it should not be at the expense of the environment. There is absolutely no need to build houses in the Greenbelt, especially since Premier Ford earlier stated publicly that no land in the Greenbelt would be open to development!

Doig Ford made a campaign promise not to touch the Greenbelt. So much for honesty and integrity.
This government needs to be investigated for criminal collusion with developers. We must protect the Greenbelt from the greed of short sighed
Profiteers.
I am against changing the greenbelt or swapping lands out for building housing. It is totally possible to build housing within existing boundaries. Just be more assertive with provincial land use powers and upzone the entire province aggressively.
The only word I can think of to describe this proposal is disgusting.
It is a proposal that benefits a very few developers at the expense of the people of Ontario, the environment, and our food security.

Despite repeated promises that there would be no removal of lands from the Greenbelt, the Government of Ontario is proposing to do just that: carve 7,400 acres out of the Greenbelt for development (ERO #019-6216 and #019-6217).

Our politicians and their developer friends have to keep their hands off this precious land. They may have power, but they have no right.

The kind of development being supported by these amendments results in much higher infrastructure maintenance costs to the municipalities compared to urban development. It does not make housing more affordable.

This proposed plan is lunacy. The only people who will benefit are the developers and those in their pockets, not people in desperate need of housing, as these locations will be too far away and too expensive for those who need it.

I will begin by saying that I don't believe the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is ACTUALLY seeking feedback on proposed changes to the Greenbelt Plan - I think they want to APPEAR AS THOUGH they are seeking feedback.

I oppose plans to remove lands from the Greenbelt.
It is not necessary, as there are already 88,000 acres of land on backlog for development.
Major urban centres are asking for higher density housing development, why is this being circumvented to destroy the greenbelt?

The greenbelt must not be converted into developed land. By converting this land into more housing we are harming our future instead of helping it. The majority of the areas marked for removal from the greenbelt are near water which is essential for maintaining a well balanced biodiversity.
