The Green Belt should be protected in perpetuity and it should never be subjected to political whims. I have serious concerns about the land speculators who purchased land in the Green Belt and this should be investigated. Lire davantage

The Ford government promised to leave the green belt alone! We don't need to take land from the green belt. Strangely enough the land being marked to be removed is land recently purchased by contributors of the Ford government!? This is shameful... Lire davantage

This government promised to leave the Greenbelt alone. That promise is now being broken and the citizens of Ontario betrayed. We cannot keep encroaching on precious farmland, wetlands and green space. I vehemently oppose any development into the Greenbelt and this government MUST leave it alone. Lire davantage

Doug Ford promised not to touch the greenbelt. Keep your word. We do not need to pave over nature. It needs protection.

I recognize the rights of owners are in conflict with the right of the crown. We need to keep this land undeveloped for future generations. Perhaps a better way is to pay the owners on a willing seller, willing buyer basis and place the land in a crown owned landbank. Lire davantage

1. Many municipal planners have stated that there is enough land designated for housing that removing land from the Greenbelt is not necessary. Lire davantage

Premier Ford and his government promised repeatedly that there would no lands removed from the Green Belt. To suggest that this slicing and dicing of the Green Belt can be compensated by adding other areas for a net increase in protected lands is preposterous! Lire davantage

It is imperative to leave the Greenbelt intact. This area was created following a devastating storm in the fifties, to help protect our land and resources. More than ever, people need the benefits of green space where nature is in charge. Lire davantage

Do not demolish the green belt. Our planet already struggles and the last thing we should be doing is dramatically altering green space. Just because you’ll be dead when the consequences get worse, doesn’t mean your kids or grandkids won’t be affected by it. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt MUST BE PROTECTED. We don’t need more homes north of Toronto. We need housing in downtown Toronto. We need to build UP. NOT pave over habitat for endangered species. NOT line the pockets of the Conservative government’s rich friends. Lire davantage

I am totally against destroying the Greenbelt especially since Ford promised it wouldn’t be touched! An inquiry needs to be made into who is going to profit from this! Do not destroy the Greenbelt!

Leave the greenbelt alone! There is plenty of land in other places in Ontario for this supposedly needed development! Do not touch our protected areas!

Thé attack on the green belt is unacceptable. We demand that this land will not be modified, destroyed or sold for any reason. Wildlife is vital to current humanity as well as the future. Listen to our voices, DO NOT DISTURB THE GREEN BELT!

Please retain the green belt and cancel Bill 23. I write this on behalf of my children and grandchildren. Profit is insignificant in light of ecology and environment.

Premier Ford: Leave the Green Belt alone, as you promised Ontario you would. Your government's assault on virtually every institution we treasure is designed not for our benefit, but to profit your developer donors and friends. Hands off the Green Belt--it's not yours to give away.

This is horrible. Doug Ford is ruining the green belt to help those who have contributed to him. These people have purchased the land prior to the announcement making one question what info they were privy to. We need this space. We need to ensure that this doesn’t happen

Bill 23 smells of corruption. It is no mere coincidence that numerous developers with links to the PC party have bought up wide swaths of land that are now being removed from the greenbelt protected lands by the PC government. Lire davantage
