I have lived in southeast Oakville since 1981 and love it here. The only negative at the moment is difficulty in getting out of this subdivision. Having the lake on one side and the QEW and railroad track on the other is very restrictive. We live with it, but pay the price when trying to get onto the westbound QEW or north of the QEW. Both options (Royal WIndsor Drive and Trafalgar Road) are very slow. I can't begin to imagine how bad it will become if the proposed number of units is built in the Trafalgar corridor. There have been a couple of occasions recently when I've been stuck in traffic backed up on the eastbound QEW Trafalgar exit ramp, due to congestion getting out onto Trafalgar Road.
I am in favour of concentrating density in the area in question, but not at the levels that the province seems to want to force through. The density proposed by the town of Oakville seems more than adequate. I can only think that greed is the driving force behind the province's proposal. Not the long-term health of this community.
