This approach to reduce the number of conservation authorities will result in a loss of local knowledge due to the vast areas covered by each of the few remaining authorities. As everyone is aware, the range of diverse habitats across Ontario benefits massively from localised specialists and ultimately this approach will lose those skills, and the province will be poorer in nature for this loss.
