While it is generally a good idea to find ways to grow our town, the proposal for development in the old GE site is, in a word, ridiculous. For one - the traffic around this area at rush hour is already way too busy, with upwards of 45 to 60 minutes to travel this corridor. Unless there are seriously other new roads planned this is a recipe for disaster. Point two - nothing in the plan suggests that there is any serious plan for new infrastructure to accommodate this growth. the only thing I see is bold-faced greed. Lastly, developments such as this are made of 80% speculation. Developers "hope" to sell, "hope" to fulfill and "hope" to accomplish what they put on paper. The truth is, this rarely plays out that way. The only way this should be developed is with much more planning and truth to the public.
