Ontario should make all speed to decarbonize its electric grid, using a combination of renewable energy, i.e. wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal. It should not bother ramping up hydrogen and should phase out nuclear as soon as possible. It should vastly increase its building, transportation and electric ,etc., codes to attain the highest efficiency rates and aim to eliminate any pollution caused by any of those sectors. The various industries involved should not burden the public by offloading any increased costs to these improvements to them. All of these changes should have happened yesterday , the planet is on fire ( witness the Canada wide forest fires that are burning hotter & longer ) so there is no time to waste. Net zero is a vital goal if we are to survive the climate catastrophe. Many thanks for providing this space for input from citizens.
