I don't believe the government has demonstrated a valid link between the presence of bike lanes and congestion to justify the proposed solution.
Not sure that this is not provincial overreach into an area traditionally controlled by municipal governments.
Government seems to have no justification for the proposal, save for pre election pandering to uninformed voters who struggle with the congestion and gridlock that the government has been unable to deal with during the two terms in office.
