As a lifelong Ontario resident and voter, I implore the Ontario Government not to exempt the proposed Highway 413 from the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act. The EAA was implemented for vital reasons- to protect the beauty, health, and integrity of Ontario's ecosystem and wildlife. Protected species would be put at significant risk by circumventing the EAA. It is irresponsible of the Ontario Government to place expediency in the moment above the needs of all future generations by disregarding the policies that they committed to when taking office.
