The thought of a bio waste…

The thought of a bio waste facility being built in the community of Strathroy is extremely concerning. There is of course the thought of the odours, but mainly an open facility not contained is irresponsible. The effects this could have long term on the water ways is not environmentally friendly in any way. The Sydenham is home to many species of fish, several of which are considered at risk. The flooding experienced this past summer should give pause to any construction of this type, not properly constructed to contain and manage any run off that will affect the surrounding farm land and the water table. There is also the concern of increased truck traffic in and out on the roadways surrounding the facility. We call for public input and meetings before any of this takes place.
