So how is it that globally…

So how is it that globally we are concerned about the environment? It's in the news every single day, almost every single hour. Yet here we sit in our small township and we are going to be the recipients of a monstrous storage facility…a fmirst-of-its-kind storage facility in all of Ontario. Engineered with nothing to go from. Enough storage to hold 550 silos worth of human waste. This is completely unfathomable and reads like a science fiction book. Why on earth are we doing this? It makes no sense whatsoever. It doesn't matter that the township did not look at the site plan in a timely fashion. It does not matter that they were attempting to remove the H symbol. It does not matter, it does not matter, it does not matter what people are saying in defense of this project. It should not ever, ever, ever happen. We only need to turn to the United States to see how far ahead they are with this situation. They have come full circle in terms of banning sludge and biofertilizer products. Yet we are nowhere near where we need to be. We are welcoming the destruction of land, water, environment, human health just to say we followed the playbook of policies! Whereas we should be following the playbook of common sense….protect the earth. What a joke Earth Day will be at this facility. Where are the scientists, where are the conservationists?? Everyone has been relegated to the corner while this project gets pushed through. And for what reason???
You folks need to press pause and think of what you are truly doing by granting this group a certificate….this group that with respect to biosolids have even charged and fined. How can it be any different this time?
We urge you to STOP this project in the name of safety for all….plants, animals and humankind!
