Removing bike lanes will not remove bikers, it will only make their commute to work less safe then the cars who are also driving to work. The same amount of traffic will exist, and yet bikers will be placed in a more dangerous position as a result. As a biker in Ottawa, where bike lanes are lacking particularly in busy city centers, I can assure you removing bike lanes will increase injury and life expectancy of bikers in Toronto.
