I am a local and long-time resident of this area, lifelong Ontarian, and user of Ontario Place. After already decimating the natural habitat of Ontario Place with its wanton destruction of precious mature trees, it's unconscionable that the Ontario Government redirect sewage dumping and health hazards to where Ontarians swim, sail, and do watersports, and local animals live. It's even more vile to do this all to accommodate the sweetheart, highly subsidized lease of a private, for-profit enterprise that has no business overtaking well used and beloved public land.
Any sewage redirection as a result of this accursed project must be responsibly undertaken away from high use areas, with costing borne by Therme. Why are Ontarians paying with their wallets for generations, their precious outdoor spaces, and risking their health, to accommodate this massively destructive and punitive project? It's not too late to put all of this hazard to an end.
