Why is the province proceeding with the CSO into the Western Channel without appropriate oversight and controls?
The City is attempting to phase out CSO's, not build new ones.
People use the Western Channel for aquatic activities -- it was also one of the sites used for the Pan Am Games in 2015! You are putting the whole CIty at risk of water-borne disease, ecoli poisoning, and just plain nasty, icky sludge. Floods are increasing in ferocity and frequency all over the world, compounding the problem.
It seems that poor planning by the Ontario government with regard to Ontario Place, has left you in a state of panic with respect to upcoming financial penalties imposed by not meeting the conditions of the contract with Therme.
Here's an idea. Stop. Just stop.
Ontarians don't want the Therme spa. It is being shoved at us without transparency or accountability and now will lead to even worse pollution in Lake Ontario, including close to shore where people participate in activity.
The whole project should be consigned to the dustbin. It is a conversion of precious public space to the private sector, an Austrian company, expensive to the Ontario taxpayers without benefits with a hideous impact on our environment.
